Choose Your Track

To join the advanced practice track, you need a master’s degree from an accredited program and current recognition as an advanced practice registered nurse. TCU's program is open to various roles like clinical nurse specialists, nurse practitioners, certified registered nurse anesthetists and certified nurse midwives.

Throughout the program, all students must uphold their advanced practice recognition as per the requirements set by certification and licensing boards.

To enter the DNP nursing administration track directly, you need a master’s degree in nursing administration and current registered nurse licensure. Preference is given to those with employment or prior experience in an administrative role. If you have a master’s in business administration (MBA), health care administration (HCA) or another leadership field, your application will be considered individually.

Accepted students with a non-nursing master’s degree will need to take a 1-credit-hour leveling course in nursing research and theory before starting the DNP courses.

Nurses with an MSN in a different focus are eligible and encouraged to apply. Each applicant with an MSN outside advanced practice and administration will be individually reviewed.

A gap analysis will be conducted to decide if additional coursework is needed before admission to the DNP program.
