Pre-Professional Health Concentrations
Harris College offers multiple degree pathways and flexible degree structures that serve as pre-professional preparation allowing you to design your undergraduate curriculum to match your interests and maximize the strength of your academic resume for competitive application to graduate health professions programs.
Our Bachelor of Science (BS) in Movement Science and Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Sciences degrees offer flexible pathways that help you meet pre-requisite requirements for various health professions schools:
-
Movement Science focuses on human mobility, blending practical, clinical and theoretical aspects of bodily function. Our movement science program has a long history of preparing students for physical and occupational therapy programs, and offers pathways of pre-professional study for competitive application to many other health professions graduate programs.
-
Health Sciences provides you with a comprehensive view of the health care industry with courses in global health systems, public health and health careers exploration. Students looking for a broader education grounded in the health care system for pre-professional health preparation might choose to look at the concentration options in the applied health sciences program.
Both programs offer experiential opportunities for students in their chosen areas of interest. Students can tailor their degree program to ensure they meet all necessary science course requirements and build a competitive resume for application to top health professions programs.
Both the BS in health sciences and BS in movement science degrees offer a pre-PA concentration that helps you complete the required courses for applying to physician assistant/associate (PA) programs. By choosing the pre-PA track, you will also have the opportunity to connect with TCU’s Master of Physician Associate Studies program, gaining valuable exposure to the field.
While many PA programs share common prerequisites, some may have unique admissions requirements. We encourage you review the specific criteria of your preferred graduate program(s) to ensure all requirements are met.
